Miniature versions of all our best loved products mean travelling light has never been easier…

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula @ Superdrug

As we make our way into the summer months, many of you will be planning what to pack for your holidays. If you’ve booked with a budget airline, chances are you’ll have to pay for the privilege of putting your bag in the hold.

But if all you plan to take are a few bikinis and some flimsy dresses, it makes sense to just put them in your hand luggage and use the saving to buy some extra sangria. But what about your sun tan lotion? Or your favourite shampoo? Restrictions on liquids make it tricky for you to have everything in your hand luggage and avoid sunburn too.

Well, those clever people in the marketing departments of all our favourite products have already thought of this. Now you can get everything from Nivea deodorant, to Palmer’s Cocoa Butter moisturiser, in handy travel sizes under 100ml. You can get miniature versions of most products from Superdrug and Boots. But if you can’t find what you’re looking for, they also do empty pump bottles and pots to decant your rare, salon only hair conditioner, or your special fragrance free body lotion.

Once you’ve stocked up on all your beauty essentials, make sure they fit into a single, transparent, resealable bag, roughly 20cm x 20cm. And, while you’re packing, leave a handbag sized space in your luggage, as you’ll be asked to put it in there at the gate.

Don’t worry though, you’ll have a little space to put a holiday purchase in there on the way back. The best part about travel products is that you’re likely to use them all up while on holiday – making for a lighter bag on the return flight.

What are your favourite products and can you get them in travel size?
