Many travellers picture France as the land of the baguette, the croissant and the French beret. The Tour Eiffel and the macaroons help travellers imagine a country that is always elegant, chic, couture. And then there’s the south of France. Picturesque, photogenic and smelling of fresh lavender and summer wine.
Who would guess that France can also be spectacularly wild?

Daniel Start, the author of a series of guidebooks for wild swimming, and also a consultant specializing in environment, community and economic development is set on showing the world the untouched beauty of France.
Here is a list of 13 wild cascades and natural jacuzzis featured in Stark’s book (photos source: Wild Swimming)
