We’ve prepared a special post for you with all you need to know about Jet2 baggage allowance. From restrictions to size specifications and weight, below you will be informed on both hand and checked baggage specifications, which you will want to keep in mind for your next flight.

Jet2 baggage allowance

Jet2.com Carry on

All Jet2.com passengers are allowed to bring one piece of cabin luggage. This piece of luggage can have the maximum dimensions of 56cm x 45cm x 25cm and weigh no more than 10kg. Any hand luggage passing these dimensions and weight will be checked in as hold luggage for an additional fee.

The Jet2.com excess baggage fee is £12/14€/$15 per extra kilo paid at the airport, but please keep in mind that the airline company has the right to refuse to check a bag depending on the availability aboard the plane.

Liquids and Items Prohibited in Hand Luggage

As always, liquids must be contained in a plastic bag that zips shut. 10 bottles up to 100ml are allowed per person.

The following items are prohibited in cabin luggage:

  • Toy guns
  • Plastic Catapults
  • Knives
  • Razor blades
  • Scissors
  • Trade tools
  • Darts
  • Metal Cutlery
  • Syringes
  • Needles
  • Snooker/Pool cue
  • Sports bat
  • Self heating drinks/food
  • Cigarette lighters and electronic cigarettes

See more rules for hand luggage restricted items here.

Jet2.com Checked Baggage

There is no free baggage allowance aboard Jet2.com flights. Passengers wishing to check a bag can do so online before the flight or at the airport. Bags checked at the airport are more expensive (up to 80% more expensive) so it is recommended to do this during the booking process.

Passengers travelling with checked luggage can pay for up to 3 bags. Each checked bag can weigh up to 22kg, however, passengers can combine the allowance if they have more than one bag. For example, if you pay to check 3 bags you can bring up to 66kg, however, no single bag can pass 32kg legally.

The price to check baggage starts at £8 when booked online ahead of time. The price depends on the destination. Bags checked at the airport cost £45 each.

Oversized Baggage & Sporting Equipment

Passengers can pay £30 to check the following items with a maximum size of 6ft x 3ft (182cm x 91cm) and a maximum weight of 20kg (except bicycles which have a max weight of 30kg):

  • Bikes (must be pre-booked)
  • Windsurf/body/surf boards (must be pre-booked)
  • Scuba equipment
  • Golf clubs
  • Skis/snowboards
  • Musical instruments
  • Golf bags
  • Fishing rod (£15)

For bookings with an infant or child, collapsible pushchairs or car seats with a total maximum weight of 10kg (for both items) may be carried free of charge in the hold. If the combined weight is more than 10kg excess baggage charges will apply.
