The Best Airports in the World
eDreams has just published the ranking of the Best Airports in the World 2012, a study based on thousands of customer opinions collected over the past year. At each airport users evaluated several aspects such as services offered, the variety of shops, restaurants, bars, and waiting areas.
Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport, in Thailand, has achieved the first position in the overall ranking, making it 2012′s best airport in the world. Many customers commented favorably about its modernity, cleanliness, the excellent treatment received by employees, and the easy access to Bangkok city center.
Changi Airport in Singapore came in a close second with only 1 point difference to the winner, rising from third to second place compared to Best Airports 2011. The Chek Lap Kok Airport in Hong Kong, completes the winners’ podium taking third place in the world rankings.
Best European Airports
In Europe, the airport with the highest rating is the Cologne Bonn Airport in Germany, which has also been awarded in all possible categories, achieving sixth place overall, fourth in shopping, and second in restaurants & bars.
Despite this exception, the presence of five Asian airports in the top 10 has beat out the European representation, which only has three airports in the ranking. Apart from the German airport, Stockholm Arlanda Airport and Amsterdam Schiphol make the list.
